Total har ikke fundet det umagen værd at fortsætte i Danmark. Der er måske for lidt gas, men det er helt sikkert protesterne, der har stoppet fracking i Danmark.

Til rette vedkommende i Energistyrelsen! Tak for venligt svar Pr tlf. Efter at Total har opgivet sin boring efter skifergas ved Dybvad er der nu mange spekulationer om hvorvidt de vil udnytte sin tilladelse til at søge efter skifergas andre steder i licensområdet. På kort bilaget er Vendsyssel 1 angivet med rød prik. Derudover er der 6 grå prikker. Er dette nogle områder som er i spil i forhold til ny prøveboringer efter skifergas. Eller er det evt prøveboringer efter konventionel gas/olie? Er der ansøgninger igang fra andre selskaber? Og fået følgende svar: Kære Eva Haugum Tak for mailen. Jeg har spurgt vores fagfolk, som siger, at de grå prikker angiver tidligere boringer i området – dvs. ingen nye eller planlagte. Ingen af disse tidligere boringer - de grå i kortudsnittet - har haft skifergas som efterforskningsmål. Så boringerne har enten haft til formål at søge efter konventionel olie-gas, geotermi eller for at undersøge forholdene for et gaslager. I forhold til dit sidste spørgsmål, så har regeringen videreført SR-regeringens pause for nye tilladelser på land, hvor efterforskningsmålet er skifergas. Over a year of campaigning, singing folk songs and protest songs in front of the gate of Total's drill site in North Jutland in Denmark every afternoon, Greenpeace climbing the drill rig last spring, thousands of people protesting in Danish cities and in front of the government building Christiansborg, lots of complaints and articles written, lots of TV-appearances, lots of videos produced and new anti fracking songs written, books published, prayers and meditation, colourful creativity, building drill rigs of milk boxes and tearing them down, led by a clown, local law suits for justice related to lost property value, Danish engineers speaking out, Danish doctors speaking out, Danish actors and media producers speaking out, performers joining delegations to the Danish parliament to get the message through, that fracking is dangerous and irreversibly damaging to the extend that a large part of Danes left their retirement priviledges, got the felt tip pen out and went in the streets to turn things round. Every Dane agrees that the future of their grand children comes first. Yesterday the French Oil and Gas company Total stopped the exploratory drilling and everybody is very relieved they did not get to test frack, as this would have caused irreversible pollution and given the population in the area reason to have to use testing equipment for chemical pollution and radiation in their private water wells in future. Some Danes, including lawyer Søren Stenderup Jensen from Plesner, travelled across to meet successful lawyer Dr Ashley Bowes in his office near London and also campaigner Geza Tarjanyi from Lancashire, who works closely with Friends of the Earth starting new fracking awareness groups across the UK. Both have been successful in their campaigning and legal work to inform the public in Lancashire and get them involved and together they accomplished good results dealing with Cuadrilla's fracking operations in Lancashire. Much inspired Søren went straight back to Denmark and aimed for the heart of the problem, while working together with other lawyers like the reknowned Mr Foldshack, who is known to confront issues on behalf of the people in Denmark. Total now says the same as they stated when a resistance was starting to build in the isle of Zealand and in the capital Copenhagen last spring: "the shale was too thin". Now, they fley over Zealand to determine this. In Jutland Total had to spend 3.400.000 pound to find out. Danes are working ahead with all the means their creativity and resources can provide to get a complete fracking ban in Denmark. The illustration shows the subterrain in North Jutland. It is made by a Danish engineer and as perhaps many, who deal with the issues of fracking, can see, it is much different from the picture which the oil and gas industry draws. Fracking is dangerous and nature and we are vulnerable.
